Martyn established the company in 1990 after spending his previous career path gaining a wealth of experience within construction and distribution.
He is married with two teenage daughters, was born and lives in Bolton.
Wide ranging interests and hobbies include, membership of local health club, Bolton Wanderers supporter, riding and maintaining a trike, motorsport, golf, swimming, travel and property renovation

After graduating from Liverpool University’s School of Architecture, Ian worked for architectural practices around the Warrington area, until joining Ibstock Building Products in 1992.
Following a brief spell with James & Taylor, Ian joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in 1998, and now holds the position of Commercial Director.
Ian’s role within the office includes facilitating our range of Terracotta Rainscreen Cladding Systems, together with heading up our Technical and CAD Department.
Ian is married, with two children, and his spare time revolves around his family, foreign travel and his passion for the Widnes Vikings Rugby League Team.

Simon D Jones - Consultant

Simon has over 18 years experience in the industry, previously working for Proctor & Lavender and Tarmac Westbrick, and for the last 13 years has acted as a freelance consultant within the framework of Lancashire Brick & Tile.
He prides himself on an inexhaustible knowledge of facing bricks and a passion for new and innovative materials.
He can always be found rummaging through the nearest record store or sharpening his poker skills.

Steven Leggott - Sales & Development Manager

With 25 years of experience within the industry, Steve began his career at Ravenhead Brick Company, moving on to Hanson Building Products and then James & Taylor before joining Lancashire Brick & Tile in the year 2000.
Over the years he has worked within the North West area, specialising in facing bricks, rainscreen systems and all types of granite and marble products.
Steven is married with two grown up sons and in his spare time is mainly involved in football, as a qualified football referee, officiating in both local and professional leagues.

Paul Sutton - Specification Development Manager

Paul is Lancashire Brick & Tile’s most recent addition, joining the company in March 2006. He has over 10 years industry experience working throughout the North West of England for three of the largest brick manufacturers, Marshalls Clay Products, Baggeridge Brick and Hanson Building Products.
His focus is working closely with architects, designers and has a wealth of knowledge whilst dealing with many major projects involving products from the both the UK and Europe.
Paul is married with two young daughters, during his spare time endures watching his beloved Manchester City FC and when duty calls, home renovations. Being a family man, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and girls as well as socialising with friends and family.

Barry Woods - Account Manager

Barry joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in January 2008 after 24 years with the NBS Group, as a sales director based in the Bolton office.
He has a good cross section of clients which includes architects, builders, contractors, developers, housing associations and local authorities.
Barry has a daughter and a teenage son, and lives in Worsley with his partner Ruth. At the weekends he will either be watching Manchester City on the golf course at Nefyn or on the water at Abersoch.

Tony Coleman - Consultant

Tony has just completed 40 years in the brick industry. The first 30 years were spent with Proctor & Lavender, initially as a sales representative and eventually as regional sales director for the North West of England based in Manchester.
From 1997 until recently, he has acted as a sales consultant to the NBS Group and joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in a similar capacity in January 2008. His knowledge of fired clay products and the industry in general, is extensive.
His interests include golf, jazz and red wine. He lives with his partner Karen in Hale near Altrincham.

Maxine Dewhurst - Office Manager

From her previous role as administration manager for a distribution company, Maxine joined us 6 years ago to take over the day-to-day running of the office and sales administration for Lancashire Brick & Tile. She enjoys the challenge of dealing with the more complicated orders, using her sizeable knowledge of various computer programs to manage the largest task.
After a brief spell as Sales Support following the birth of her son in May 2007, she has since returned to the role of Office Manager. Along with administrators Julie and Deborah the orders are seen through to delivery, involving co-ordinating manufacturers and hauliers with the sites. All this is carried out in a friendly, helpful and honest manner. Any queries are dealt with promptly and courteously, due to a logical outlook and good technical knowledge.
Maxine’s spare time is now mostly dedicated to her baby son, but she still finds time to train at GFC Bury Thai Boxing Club and go cycling with her husband.

Julie Hamer - Sales Administrator

Julie joined Lancashire Brick in 1999, originally working on a part-time basis to fit in with her young family. As the company has grown, Julie now works full time in her position as Sales Administrator.
Her role includes processing the orders and call-offs to ensure timely deliveries to site and liasing with customers and suppliers who are dealt with efficiently, both in person and over the telephone, with a warm and friendly manner. Being a qualified shorthand typist, Julie ensures that all outgoing correspondence is accurate and precise.
She lives life to the full and enjoys socialising, going to the gym and supporting the best football team in the world (come on you Whites!).

Deborah Wolstenholme – Sales Adminstrator

Deborah is our newest member of staff, joining us in July 2008. She has recently returned to work after having a two-year break to have her son, before which spending 4 years as an engineer administrator for AXA Insurance.
Her role involves working alongside Julie to process call-offs and orders, ensuring timely deliveries to site, answering calls in a polite, helpful and friendly manner and efficiently liasing with customer and suppliers on a daily basis.
Deborah likes to spend time with her husband, baby son and Bassett Hound enjoying leisurely walks and trips to the lakes. She loves shopping, ladies lunches and enjoys playing her guitar.

Kay Gaitskell - Accounts

Kay joined the company in 1997 to manage the accounts department.
She is responsible for the running of the sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, month end reports, reconciliations and all aspects of the companies banking.
Away from the office, Kay is a member of the local gym and yoga group, but likes nothing better than experimenting with her culinary skills to entertain family and friends.
