Martyn R Wells - Managing Director
Martyn established the company in 1990 after spending his previous career path gaining a wealth of experience within construction and distribution.
He is married with two grown-up daughters, was born and lives in Bolton. Wide ranging interests and hobbies include membership of the local health club, supporting Bolton Wanderers, motorsport, golf, swimming, travel and property renovation.
Ian Shard B.A.Hons, B.ArchHons, RIBA - Commercial Director
After graduating from Liverpool University's School of Architecture, Ian worked for architectural practices around the Warrington area, until joining Ibstock Building Products in 1992.
Following a brief spell with James & Taylor, Ian joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in 1998 and now holds the position of Commercial Director. His role within the office includes facilitating our range of Terracotta Rainscreen Cladding Systems, together with heading up our Technical and CAD Department.
Ian is married with two teenage children and his spare time revolves around his family, foreign travel and his passion for Widnes Vikings Rugby League Team.
Maxine Dewhurst Cert Acct (Open) - Administration Director
From her previous role as Admin Manager for a distribution company, Maxine joined us in 2000 to take over the day-to-day running of the office and sales administration for Lancashire Brick & Tile, and now holds the position of Administration Director.
With her logical outlook and good technical knowledge, she deals with the more complex orders, using her sizeable knowledge of various computer programs to manage the largest task.
Maxine's spare time is now mostly dedicated to her young son, but she also enjoys cycling with her husband and socialising with family and friends.
Simon D Jones - Consultant
Simon has over 25 years experience in the industry, previously working for Proctor & Lavender and Tarmac Westbrick, and for the last 22 years has acted as a freelance consultant within the framework of Lancashire Brick & Tile.
He prides himself on an inexhaustible knowledge of facing bricks and a passion for new and innovative materials.
He can always be found rummaging through the nearest record store or sharpening his poker skills.
Steven Leggott - Sales & Development Manager
With 30 years of experience within the industry, Steve began his career at Ravenhead Brick Company, moving onto Hanson Building Products and then James & Taylor before joining Lancashire Brick & Tile in the year 2000.
Over the years he has worked within the North West area, specialising in facing bricks, rainscreen systems and all types of granite and marble products.
Steven is married with two grown-up sons and his spare time is mainly involved in football as a qualified referee, officiating in both local and professional leagues.
Paul Sutton - Facade Consultant
Paul moved to Lancashire Brick & Tile in 2006, having gathered over 15 years industry experience working throughout the North West for three of the largest brick manufacturers, Marshalls Clay Products, Baggeridge Brick and Hanson Building Products. In April 2015, Paul became an independent consultant for Lancashire Brick.
His focus is working closely with architects and designers, dealing with major projects involving products from both the UK and Europe.
Paul is married with two young daughters, during his spare time supports his beloved Manchester City FC and when duty calls, home renovations. Being a family man, he enjoys spending time with his wife and girls as well as socialising with friends and family.
Barry Woods - Sales Consultant
Barry joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in 2008 after 24 years with the NBS Group as a Sales Director based in the Bolton office. He now works as an independent consultant for Lancashire Brick.
He has developed a good cross section of clients which includes architects, builders, contractors, developers, housing associations and local authorities.
Barry has a grown-up daughter and son, and lives in Worsley with his wife Ruth. At the weekends he will be either watching Manchester City FC or on the golf course at Nefyn.
Julie Seddon - Senior Sales Administrator
Julie joined Lancashire Brick in 1999, originally working on a part-time basis to fit in with her young family. As the company has grown, Julie now works full-time in her position in sales administration.
Her role includes processing the orders and call-offs to ensure timely deliveries to site and liaising with customers and suppliers who are dealt with efficiently, both in person and over the telephone, with a warm and friendly manner. Being a qualified shorthand typist, Julie ensures that all outgoing correspondence is accurate and precise.
She lives life to the full and enjoys socialising, going to the gym and supporting the best football team in the world (come on you Whites!)
Hannah Woods - Sales Administrator
Hannah joined Lancashire Brick & Tile in 2014 as an apprentice, and successfully completed her qualifications in Business Administration.
Her role includes dealing professionally and graciously with visitors and calls whilst also processing orders and quotations and making sure weekly deliveries run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Outside of work Hannah enjoys singing, running and socialising with friends.
Kay Gaitskell - Accounts
Kay joined the company in 1997 to manage the accounts department.
She is responsible for the running of the sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, month end reports, reconciliations and all aspects of the companies banking.
Away from the office, Kay is a keen walker and enjoys experimenting with her culinary skills to entertain family and friends.
